Period: 01.01.2016 - 31.12.2016

Contact person: Univ.-Prof. Dr. Andreas Liening

Project partner: TU Dortmund University

Funding programs: EXIST and Startup NRW

Abstract: heydeal.de is a young startup that could be implemented through the support of the chair. Founded by the economist Peter Dimsic and the medical physicist Philipp Martini, heydeal aims to help potential buyers on the Internet to compare prices. By means of the site, people should be able to find the cheapest products.

With their idea of an intelligent shopping platform, the two founders, together with Prof. Liening from the Chair of Entrepreneurship and Economic Education, have successfully applied for the funding programs EXIST and Startup NRW. This provides the team with a six-figure budget to put their business idea into practice. Besides Prof. Liening as mentor, Prof. Dietmar Jannach and Prof. Kristian Kersting of the Faculty of Computer Science support the project as co-mentors.

The platform should enable the user to find the best bargains. With the help of Big Data and Machine Learning, large amounts of data are analyzed and automatically compared with each other.
