Resorting to different forms of learning

The Junior Entrepreneurship School is based on the blended learning model. This consists of tutor-assisted e-learning phases combined with classroom phases. The combination of face-to-face and self-study ensures maximum flexibility in learning.

In the attendance phases, students acquire the learning content covered in the respective modules under expert guidance. Action orientation is the central didactic approach here, so that the attendance phases primarily include elements such as role plays, business games or case studies. By working together on the problems posed, the social competence of the young people is strengthened and they can find out where their strengths and weaknesses lie through their assumed role in the team.

The students work out a part of the learning material independently by means of self-developed Internet-supported learning tools adapted to the special requirements. This includes both the development of the technical content and the independent review and consolidation based on tasks. In addition, the students apply their newly acquired knowledge to practical case studies. A learning platform and tele-tutors assist the learners in this process. The e-learning phases thus ensure that, in addition to the technical learning content, media and self-learning skills are also deepened.

For the implementation of the computer-based learning tools, the expertise of iLearning GmbH, Dortmund, was called upon. The experience of iLearning GmbH in the development and integration of multimedia learning concepts contributes significantly to strengthening the information and communication technology competence of the JES participants.
